Saturday Weather Forecast: Wind & Wave Watch

With the local forecast for 28-32 knots of unusual northerly wind, Saturday’s KIA Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup super session could be epic, with Philip Koster and Ricardo Campello leading the list of jump specialist. “The forecast is uncertain and a strong north wind is pretty rare here I think, so we’re not sure what it will do,” Duncan Coombs, the PWA head judge, said. “We will send them out in eight-man heats and it will be jumps only because the waves will just be small choppy stuff. One jump will count and the highest score wins.”
