KIA Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup asked the local profile Kenneth Danielsen to do a short briefing of his trip to the PWA World Cup at Gran Canaria 2010. Here’s what he wrote us: Hey Everyone
In July I returned to DK after spending 3 weeks on Gran Canaria. I was there mainly to compete in this year’s first PWA wave competition, but also to train by myself.
The competition takes place at the famous high wind spot in the small town of Pozo. There was only four days of competing, so there wasn't much time to complete a full double elimination especially because there wasn't any wind the first day of the contest.
The conditions were not the best during the contest but the organizers still managed to get a full double elimination trough. I did really well and ended up on a 17th place after loosing to Pozo local Jonas Ceballos in the double elimination. The heat was really close but Jonas got a better wave in the end - which gave him the victory.
I’m happy with my result and looking forward to the next contest, the KIA Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup, which takes place at my home spot Klitmøller in September.
